About Amrapali Ambegaokar

Amrapali Ambegaokar is celebrated internationally as a top Classical Indian Kathak dancer and the Los Angeles Times has heralded her: Ambegaokar is by far one of the best Kathak Dancers around and a joyous monument to multiculturalism. Amrapali is the formost disciple of Kathak Guru Smt. Anjani Ambegaokar for the past 25 years and with a BA from UCLA’s World Arts & Cultures/Dance. Amrapali haspioneered as the first Kathak Dancer in a Principal Role in Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion for 2 years in over 750 performances and is now the Associate Artistic Director andChoreographer of Anjani’s Kathak Dance of India Company and the Sundar KalaKendra Dance School . Amrapali has been the Principal Dancer and a soloist of the company for the past 15 years and has performing at countless prestigious venues internationally.
