Nakul Dev Mahajan, "Hollywood's Bollywood choreographer," is the founder and artistic director of NDM Dance Productions and Studios in Los Angeles. Nakul has been dancing on stage for the past sixteen years. His diversity in dance expands from Indian classical Kathak to modern Jazz. His main focus over the past decade is to promote cultural awareness within the Indo-Pak community, mainly the youth, by performing, teaching, choreographing and organizing cultural events.
Nakul graduated from the University of California Riverside with a degree in Sociology and Dance in 2002. He continues promoting cultural awareness and running the 1stBollywood Dance School in the nation, NDM Bollywood Dance Studios in Artesia and his dance company comprised of 35 dancers, NDM Bollywood Dance Productions.The NDM Dance Studios has served over 3000 students since they opened their doors in 2003.
At present, Nakul Dev Mahajan is now on a quest to bring Hollywood a taste of Bollywood…but the right way. His Hollywood work can now be seen on the NBC Soap Opera “Passions,” several upcoming television commercials and from several celebrities who are learning the art of Bollywood Dance for future roles. Nakul has also been featured on ABC Nightline; quoted on Good Morning America in an interview with Aishwarya Rai; FOX’s Good Day LA and interviewed several times by The Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine. In 2004, Nakul choreographed a dance for a NBC pilot directed by “Friends” star David Shwimmer and instructed dance to actor Chris Kattan of "Saturday Night Live" fame for a television pilot with a Bollywood theme. In 2006, Nakul and a few of his Bollywoood Troupe Dancers were featured on the emmy winning show "The Office," starring Steve Carell. In 2007, NDM was featured on the USA Network's show "Character Fantasy" and Nakul Dev Mahajan and dancers from the NDM Dance Troupe will also be seen on MTV’s popular reality show “Next.”
Recently, Nakul Dev Mahajan choreographed for the number 1 show in America, "So You Think You Can Dance." His future projects include the first ever One Man Bollywood Show on November 1, 2008 at the Wadsworth Theatre in Santa Monica and The 2009 Rose Parade in Pasadena.
