NBC is ready to launch their highly anticipated new dance reality show titled Superstars of Dance. In an Olympic style format, eight different countries from around the world will compete against each other. The eight countries participating in the show are Argentina, Australia, China, Ireland, Russia, South Africa, United States and INDIA! Each team -- which will be comprised of two soloists, one duo and one larger group -- will showcase dances that are unique to their nation.
Leading Team India, is our very own Nakul Dev Mahajan, who acted as the Coach and co choreographer. Team India consists of two professional classical dancers and notable Bollywood and Bhangra performers from Southern California.
Superstars of Dance is being produced by So You Think You Can Dance Judge and Producer, Nigel Lythgoe. "This is the most challenging and exhilarating project I've ever done. "Nothing of this magnitude has ever been attempted before on television. We will bring to America different cultural styles of dancers -- each performer is the best in their genre -- and the sheer mosaic of styles and energy is going to be nothing short of awe-inspiring," said Lythgoe.
Lord of the Dance star and recent Dancing with the Stars guest judge Michael Flatley will host the series along with former Miss USA Susie Castillo, who will serve as the show's co-host. Following Superstars of Dance's two-hour debut Sunday, January 4 at 9PM ET/PT on NBC, the show will air two-hour episodes in its regular Mondays at 8PM ET/PT time period beginning January 5. The show's finale is scheduled to air January 26 at 8PM ET/PT.
